Chery’s off-road brand enters the pickup market with a body-on-frame PHEV boasting 1,300 km range, three locking differentials, and 3.5-ton towing.
Chery’s Zongheng brand launched the F700 PHEV pickup on August 6 in Dali, Yunnan, with limited-time prices from 299,900 yuan ($44,100).
The truck delivers 665 kW (892 hp) and 1,300 km of combined range, positioning it against Western premium pickups at roughly half the price.
It marks Zongheng’s first pickup and Chery’s most aggressive push into the global luxury off-road segment.

Trim Lineup and Pricing
The F700 arrives in three variants. Limited-time pricing runs 299,900 to 339,900 yuan ($44,100–$50,000), below the MSRP of 314,900 to 354,900 yuan.

Pre-orders began July 20 at 364,900 yuan. The final limited-time price drops up to 65,000 yuan from presale, a notable cut aimed at converting early interest into sales.

Powertrain: 892 hp From a 2.0T PHEV System
The F700 runs Chery’s Kunpeng Super Energy Hybrid CDM-O system: a 2.0T dedicated hybrid engine paired with dual motors on both axles.
The CATL-supplied LFP battery provides 150 km of electric-only driving. The 1,300 km combined figure targets long-distance overland travelers who may spend days between charging stops.
A 20 kW stationary power generation feature turns the truck into a mobile generator. A 6.6 kW external discharge powers camping equipment, tools, or appliances.
Off-Road: Body-on-Frame With Three Locks
The F700 uses a non-load-bearing body with the XWD-S four-wheel-drive system. Front and rear locking differentials plus an energy center lock give it three locks total.
The truck competed in the 2026 Taklamakan Rally (环塔拉力赛) in factory condition, covering 7,500 km of desert and mountain stages. Chery is using that result as a durability proof point.
Interior: SUV-Grade Cabin in a Pickup
The cabin breaks from traditional pickup spartanness. A 35.4-inch “Horizon Screen” spans the dashboard, paired with a 15.6-inch floating central display.
The system runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8255 chip with Zongheng OS. Physical buttons are retained for core off-road controls.
“Cloud Rest” seats offer Nappa leather, 14-layer construction, and massage up front. Heating and ventilation are standard for both rows. A 24-hour refrigerator is built in.
For driver assistance, the F700 includes the Falcon 500 highway NOA system, automatic parking, and a 540-degree panoramic camera.
Cargo and Expansion: 59 Anchor Points
The cargo bed offers 1,300L of space with 59 factory-engineered expansion anchor points. Owners can mount roof tents, side awnings, motorcycle racks, or tow hooks without drilling or voiding warranty.
The 3.5-ton towing rating supports caravans and horse trailers. A standard trailer power outlet and intelligent towing mode round out the utility package.
Market Positioning: China’s First Luxury Off-Road Pickup
Zongheng positions the F700 as the first “all-domain luxury off-road pickup” from a Chinese brand. The segment has historically been dominated by the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, and RAM.
Chery Executive Vice President Li Xueyong said at the launch: “The F700 is a value reconstruction for China’s auto industry in the premium pickup segment. We are not building extreme products on existing standards — we are creating new standards for global players.”
The F700 extends Zongheng from luxury off-road SUVs into pickups. The brand first unveiled the F700 in June without pricing; today’s launch confirms full specifications and delivery timeline. Chery surpassed 20 million cumulative sales in July 2026.
